This Cumulus filter can catalog FreeHand images of version 3.xx. (The file type is “FHD3”).
If a FreeHand file does not contain a preview, it is represented in the catalog by a FreeHand icon as its thumbnail. FreeHand version 3.11 allows you to save a preview image together with the file. To make FreeHand do so, check the “Include Fetch preview” option in the “More…” section of the preferences dialog.
In order to read type-specific information from FreeHand files, the program “FreeHand Reader” is required. Make sure that it resides in the same folder as the FreeHand filter.
FreeHand Reader is launched automatically by the FreeHand filter and quits itself 30 seconds after the last FreeHand image has been cataloged. You may also quit FreeHand Reader in the usual manner by bringing it to the foreground and choosing “Quit” from its File menu.
FreeHand Reader errors are reported by Cumulus. In particular, the message “Not enough memory in heap zone” may indicate that FreeHand Reader needs more memory.
The following type-specific information is provided:
Fonts: The fonts used in the FreeHand document.
Colors: The colors defined in the document.
Links: Files placed in the FreeHand image. In addition to the file type, the scaling factor and the file name are shown. If horizontal and vertical scaling are different, both are shown (horizontal scaling first). If one file has been placed several times, it appears in the list more than once.
